Music Scene: Meet the Indiepunk band "The Happy Problem"

Music is a big part of my life. I listen to different genres of music depending on my mood. As of now, I am really addicted to indie music and I'm glad that some of the indie music artists includes Philippines on their tour.

Speaking of indie music, I just found out of this new band called, "The Happy Problem."

”The Happy Problem” have found themselves at the heart of a new rock scene in New York City with the release of their first full-length album, “Head Case“. Born from the fighting energy of punk and the love of tuneful pop, and citing influences from Duran Duran to Pearl Jam to Gogol Bordello, “Head Case” features 11 melodic punk tunes, including the first single, “Matador,” written with impatience about the drunk hipsters crowding the F train on Shaber’s Lower East Side. There’s been enthusiastic response from bloggers and podcasters alike, (including UK’s  DarkCompass.com) as well as airplay on tastemaker stations across the US including KROQ in Los Angeles.

Shaber’s booming, raspy voice can also be heard in the upcoming Weinstein release, Butter, starring Hugh Jackman and Jennifer Garner, on the song “Harder Deeper Faster” which she co-wrote with dance-rock collective The Bashful. The TV show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians also featured some of their songs.

The Happy Problem’s Head Case is available digitally and physically at iTunes and CDBaby.com.
Here are the tracklist:

  1. Curvature
  2. Matador
  3. The Prettiest Girl
  4. Seaweed
  5. Coldfish
  6. Head Case
  7. Material Girl
  8. Wizard
  9. Lost
  10. Downtown
  11. You

My personal favorite on this tracklist is "You", they didn't include "I'll love you when I'm gone" but you should listen to it also. :)
